The company has reached 90 million euros in turnover, the result of its diversification and its excellence in both products and services.

The strategic plan aims to strengthen the company’s position, consolidate the domestic market, increase its share in strategic international markets and continue developing and innovating its portfolio of products and services, among other future challenges.

Sumcab DNA

The company, founded in 1998, was created with the ambition of understanding products and services in a different way. This business vision was based on working on the development of tailor-made solutions according to the requirements of each customer and the demands of each application, focusing efforts on providing maximum adaptability, performance and reliability. In this way, under the philosophy “When the standard is not enough”, Sumcab is committed to the manufacture of wiring solutions beyond the standards, prioritising the details so that each cable is truly suitable. Regarding service, trust, personalised assistance and customer support are three inseparable characteristics of Sumcab’s DNA that enable it to guarantee premium service.

This restless and disruptive character has meant that the group has evolved into different business units – IMS, Projects and Robotics –, with the aim of meeting the needs of very diverse and demanding markets, and of accompanying customers from project engineering to project execution.

25 years of achievements

Sumcab celebrated its twenty-fifth birthday with a close-knit family-style event. Manu Romero, CEO of Sumcab, took the opportunity to thank the entire team for their dedication: “Despite the challenges, Sumcab continues to shine thanks to our disruptive and proactive essence. With your support, we continue to embrace change with enthusiasm and an open mind, staying true to our values and ambition.”

More than 200 employees, 7,000 customised solutions, projects in more than 50 countries and more than 100 product certifications. These figures support the good results achieved during these 25 years, to which are also added notable milestones such as: the opening of the Sumcab Robotics production plant in Germany (2008), where systems for industrial robots and ready-made cables are manufactured; the launch of the Projects business unit (2012); the inauguration of the Sumcab Tailor Made Cables (STMC) factory in Sant Pol de Mar, specialised in the design and manufacture of industrial cables, or the recent opening of the Sumcab Robotics production centre, in Sant Vicenç dels Horts (Barcelona), dedicated to the development of mechatronic systems for industrial robots.

Betting on R&D

To make the whole thing work, Sumcab highlights the importance of R+D+i to stay at the forefront of the design and manufacture of special cables. The company allocates a significant part of its resources to the research and development of new products, improvements in efficiency and quality, as well as adaptation to the latest industry standards.

Sumcab future challenges

After more than two decades of experience, Sumcab faces the future with a consolidated position and ready to meet the challenges of its ambitious strategic plan to continue being a benchmark in terms of its problem-solving capacity and value generation. In this sense, the company seeks to increase awareness in some key market sectors, as well as strengthen the distribution channel. The Projects business unit is focused on increasing its market share both nationally and internationally in the renewable energy sector. For its part, Robotics wants to continue demonstrating that it is possible to improve production efficiency by working on solutions that meet the challenges required by Industry 4.0.
