The proposal for continuous motion cables, the SumflexFortis+ solution for food&beverage and the Sumoslide and Sumoflex energy packages for industrial robotics were some of the company’s most notable products at MetalMadrid 2023.
Sumcab, manufacturer of special cables, debuted at the MetalMadrid trade fair with the presentation of its flagship products for industrial automation and robotics, with the aim of offering solutions in demanding areas such as the metallurgical, chemical, pharmaceutical, food&beverage and packaging sectors, among others. The company participated through two of its business units: Sumcab Iberian Market Solutions (IMS), with solutions such as continuous motion cables and SumflexFortis+, and Sumcab Robotics, with the Sumoslide and Sumoflex retraction systems.
In addition to these solutions, the leading event in manufacturing, machining and metal processing was used as an opportunity to explain to industry professionals how Sumcab’s technical service works and that it is reliable and characterised by expertise and agility of action.
Tailor-made solutions for different sectors
The IMS business unit presented its range of power, data-control cables and its communication solutions for fixed installation, as well as robotics and continuous motion cabling. One of the products that aroused the most interest, especially in the food&beverage context, was SumflexFortis+, a cable, with ECOLAB certification, manufactured for applications in very demanding environments that require maximum resistance and safety. This product as much as the rest of the proposals comply with the strictest regulations.
Sumcab IMS has extensive know-how obtained after more than 25 years of experience and backed up by a long history in the design, development and in-house manufacturing of specific applications for the customer. This solid expertise enables the company to work on the adaptability and customisation of solutions for diverse sectors.
Sumcab Robotics presented its solutions with an expert team that highlighted the advantages of ready-made cables for robotics and power packages. For example, Sumoslide, a retraction system that, thanks to its compact design, enables precise guidance of an energy package in a robot arm, thus reducing the risks of damage and wear. Or the Sumoflex energy package, which is characterised by its modular design, that is, both the diameter of the corrugated tube and the length of the retraction tube can be flexibly configured, thus providing a high degree of adaptability.
This business unit is characterised, especially, by its comprehensive and tailor-made service, which ranges from the initial approach, through product development engineering for the required application, to the end of the after-sales technical service.
