  • Sumcab’s project-focused business division enjoyed a warm welcome and strong success at the Genera trade show, one of the most important global events for the energy and environment industry.
  • The ultra-strong Sumcab ToughGround cable was extremely popular due to its simple installation and outstanding strength in extreme environments.

Sumcab, the high added-value cable manufacturing specialists, showcased its portfolio of solutions for photovoltaic installations at Genera 2024, the International Energy and Environment Trade Show. Sustainable materials and its ToughGround solution featured strongly in the products on show from Sumcab Projects, the company’s business division focused on project development for major infrastructures.

Visitors to the Sumcab stand (9E13) were able to discover a broad variety of solutions for the solar power sector with their own eyes. Those solutions range from medium- and low-voltage cables, through communications cables to solar cables for transporting power to storage batteries. The team from Sumcab Projects, experts in international regulations and boasting extensive know-how in project logistics and operations, showed off the services being made available to the sector and all the advantages of those solutions.

Sumcab ToughGround, the all-terrain cable

One of the products on display for photovoltaic installations was the Sumcab ToughGround cable, a robust and ultra-strong cable for low-voltage power lines. This unique product has a sheath made from sustainable and recycled materials that are halogen-free and boast low smoke and corrosive gas emissions. Its structure consists of an aluminium conductor based on IEC 60228 standards to offer maximum protection. Furthermore, its AD8 protection and XLPE insulation ratings make it the ideal cable for outdoor installations. The stand-out value from this solution lies in its simple installations under the most adverse conditions. Thanks to the strength of its outer structure, it can be installed directly into ditches without the need for any soil preparation or modification beforehand. This optimises installation costs and minimises durability-related incidents.

Besides meeting the most rigorous of standards, the cable is also designed to withstand the most demanding environmental conditions: UV rays, low temperatures, rodents and termites.

The Sumsave H1Z2Z2-K was another popular product at the event. This submersible cable with an AD8 protection rating can be entirely and permanently flooded, ensuring the highest level of operational guarantees.
