The demand for alternating current (AC) motors is growing, as they allow to make great energy savings and are easier to maintain. The speed of these motors depends on the frequency applied, which is controlled through a complex moderator called Frequency Variator (VFD).
The interconnection between the Frequency Variator and the motor is done through the VFD cable. his component plays a very important part, considering that the drive variator generates a large number of harmonics that produce high frequency surges, causing current flow within the motor, thus leading to its erosion.
To solve this problem, Sumcab has developed a range of VFD cables that help extending the lifespan of the motors, minimizing harmonic distortions. Compared with other usual cables, Sumcab’s product provides excellent protection against electromagnetic interference and minimizes voltage peaks towards the motor. In addition, the flexible conductor provides better resistance to vibrations and has a smaller bend radius. It should be noted that the High Security sheath (non-fire propagating, halogen-free and resistant to oils and greases) is suitable for industrial environments.
